World Lebanese Cultural Union Visits the Maronite Foundation in Sydney
As part of strengthening communication and cooperation among Lebanese institutions in Australia, a delegation from the Geographic Regional Council for Australia and New Zealand of the World Lebanese Cultural Union paid a visit to the headquarters of the Maronite Foundation in Canterbury – Sydney.
The delegation was headed by Sheikh Michel Doueihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the WLCU, representing Mr Antoine Karam, President of the Geographic Regional Council for Australia and New Zealand of the World Lebanese Cultural Union. He was accompanied by Mr Abraham Khoury, Public Relations Officer, Ms Lily Akiki, Public Relations Adviser, Mr Raffoul Rahme, Social Affairs Officer, and Ms Mireille Chidiac, social media Officer.
The delegation was welcomed by Professor Fadia Ghossayn, Head of the Maronite Foundation, alongside Mr Kamal Naeem and Ms Samira Touma. Mr Sarkis and his wife were also present during the meeting.
During the visit, Sheikh Michel Doueihi delivered a detailed presentation on the role of the World Lebanese Cultural Union in Australia and around the world, praising the leading role played by the Maronite Foundation under the leadership of Professor Fadia Ghossayn and its continuous efforts in serving the Lebanese community and strengthening its connection to its Lebanese roots.
For her part, Professor Fadia Ghossayn commended the important role carried out by the World Lebanese Cultural Union on various levels, welcoming the delegation and praising its efforts in promoting unity within the Lebanese community and strengthening its cultural and social presence across the diaspora.
Professor Fadia Ghossayn also accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Foundation, where she explained its working mechanisms, programs, and activities dedicated to serving the Lebanese community and society.
During the visit, Mr Abraham Khoury, on behalf of the Geographic Regional Council for Australia and New Zealand and its President Mr Antoine Karam, together with members of the delegation, presented a commemorative shield to Professor Fadia Ghossein in appreciation of her leading role and dedicated service to the Lebanese community and diaspora work.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides emphasised the importance of openness, cooperation, and coordination among Lebanese institutions across the diaspora, in a way that strengthens the unity of the Lebanese community and its active role within the societies in which it resides

في إطار تعزيز التواصل والتعاون بين المؤسسات اللبنانية في أستراليا، قام وفد من المجلس القاري لأستراليا ونيوزيلندا في الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم بزيارة إلى مقر المؤسسة المارونية للانتشار في منطقة كانتبري – سيدني.
وترأس الوفد الشيخ ميشال الدويهي، رئيس مجلس الأمناء في الجامعة، ممثّلًا السيد أنطوان كرم، رئيس المجلس القاري لأستراليا ونيوزيلندا في الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، ورافقه كل من السيد إبراهام الخوري مسؤول العلاقات العامة، والسيدة ليلي عقيقي المستشارة في شؤون العلاقات العامة، والسيد رفول رحمة مسؤول الشؤون الاجتماعية، والسيدة ميراي شدياق مسؤولة وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي.
وكان في استقبال الوفد البروفسور فاديا غصين، المسؤولة عن المؤسسة المارونية للانتشار، إلى جانب السيد كمال نعيم والسيدة سميرة توما، كما حضر اللقاء السيد سركيس وعقيلته.
وخلال اللقاء، قدّم الشيخ ميشال الدويهي عرضًا مفصلًا حول دور الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في أستراليا والعالم، مشيدًا بالدور الريادي الذي تقوم به المؤسسة المارونية للانتشار برئاسة البروفسور فاديا غصين، وما تبذله من جهود في خدمة أبناء الجالية اللبنانية وتعزيز ارتباطهم بجذورهم اللبنانية.
من جهتها، أثنت البروفسور فاديا غصين على الدور الذي تؤديه الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم على مختلف الأصعدة، مرحبةً بوفد الجامعة ومشيدةً بالجهود التي يبذلها في سبيل توحيد الجالية اللبنانية وتعزيز حضورها الثقافي والاجتماعي في بلاد الاغتراب.
كما قامت البروفسور فاديا غصين بجولة مع الوفد داخل المؤسسة، حيث شرحت آلية العمل والبرامج والنشاطات التي تنظمها المؤسسة في خدمة الجالية اللبنانية والمجتمع.
وخلال الزيارة، قدّم الأستاذ إبراهام الخوري، باسم المجلس القاري لأستراليا ونيوزيلندا ورئيسه السيد أنطوان كرم، إلى جانب أعضاء الوفد، درعًا تكريمية للبروفسور فاديا غصين، تقديرًا للدور الريادي الذي تؤديه في خدمة الجالية اللبنانية والعمل الاغترابي.
وفي ختام الزيارة، جرى التأكيد على أهمية الانفتاح والتعاون والتنسيق بين مختلف المؤسسات اللبنانية في بلاد الانتشار، بما يعزز وحدة الجالية اللبنانية ودورها الفاعل في المجتمعات التي تتواجد فيها.
