أعلنت الناشطة الاجتماعية المغتربة غولدا زغيب الشيخ عن ترشحها لبلدية Hume city Council Aitken Ward وقالت في بيان على صفحتها:
أعلن اليوم ترشيحي للانتخابات البلدية القادمة في 24 تشرين الأول عن مقعد بلدية Hume city Council Aitken Ward وما دفعني لذلك هو طموحي للوصول إلى مجتمع مثالي يتمتع فيه الفرد بكامل حقوق الانسان بكافة معانيها..خاصة اننا اليوم نواجه تحديات اجتماعية واقتصادية وصحية منها وباء الكورونا ذات الانتشار الواسع والعام بما يستدعي ذلك استنفار كامل الطاقات الاجتماعية والمؤسسات العامة ومنها البلديات ضمن مناطق صلاحياتها…أمام هذا الواقع قررت ان اخوض تجربة الانتخابات البلدية بتحدي تفعيل العمل البلدي ببرنامجي القائم وبالتعاون مع جميع أعضاء المجلس البلدي على تفعيل العلاقة بين البلدية والمواطن وتطوير الخدمات البلدية وايجاد الحلول لكافة المشاكل الاجتماعية خاصة في هذا الظرف الاستثنائي الذي نمر فيه…..كنت وسأبقى من خلال محبتكم ودعمكم حاملة لصوتكم….بصوتكم أقوى ولكم مني كل الوفاء والمحبة.

24th is about YOU
The election is about you, your family, friends and work colleagues living in the City of Hume.
Our community has been through a very challenging period and everyone, the young, the old, the business owners and workers have suffered.
The coronavirus was not just a health issue but also about our connections with family and friends, the fact we could not do all of the things we like to do in our community for recreation, learning and, for many, celebrating their faith or important multicultural events.
The coronavirus has created financial stress for many people with job losses or reduced working hours as well as the loss of businesses people had worked so hard to build.
I am standing as a candidate for the Aitken ward to ensure the Hume City Council’s services meet the needs of our community and you and your family as we look to a better future.
I will never take your vote for granted
As an independent candidate, I will work as a councillor for you and not for a political party. I will listen and act for you and for the benefit of our community.
